(More customer reviews)I decided on these strings because I had another set from different maker snap when tuning my violin. Those strings frayed.
These strings are very good.I was very skeptical because of the price. I have recorded these with Protools and tracks do not lie. At college with my violin my professor has no problems with the strings as they sound very good.
I would recommend these to others and they are very good for the price. I have order more so I have extra.
If you are on a budget and need good strings get these. They will improve your sound.

The tunning pegs are loose and they just don't hold.
The bridge was missing when first openned.
I did learn my lesson:
Next time I will purchase all my instruments at the local store.

(More customer reviews)I love my new CodaBow. It is smooth, responsive and beautiful to behold. I recently purchased it on Amazon through Evergreen Workshop. When I registered the product for warranty I was told by CodaBow that Evergreen Workshop is not an authorized CodaBow dealer and therefore they could not validate the warranty. I was able to return the bow through Amazon for a full refund, including shipping and CodaBow directed me to an authorized dealer, Johnson Strings. I am incredibly impressed with my new bow and the customer service that I received through the CodaBow and Johnson Strings companies. They take great pride in their product and therefore make sure that their dealers are knowledgeable and selling registered products.

Pirastro Wondertone Solo 4/4 Violin String Set - Medium Gauge with Loop End Steel E Review

(More customer reviews)I have been an immense fan of Pirastro's strings for over ten years and am always excited to try their new products. Thus, I purchased a set of Wondertones when they first came out a few years ago. But to be honest, I wasn't all that happy with them. Don't get me wrong, they are still better than most every other string that you will find (especially Dominant), but they just aren't quite as good as they could be. They lack the brillance and projection of the Evah Pirazzis or the rich, warm, almost dark tone of the Obligatos or Olivs.
If you are very particular about your violin strings, I would probably spend the extra $20 or so and pick up a set of Pirazzis or Obligatos.

Kun Original Junior Shoulder Rest for 1/2 - 3/4 Violin Review

(More customer reviews)I switched to this shoulder rest from a very basic one and count this as a good upgrade from your very standard "padded bar". It is very comfortable and I do not have any issues with it falling off of the instrument as I did my previous rest.
The arms that attach to the instrument itself have a little notch in them to avoid it from falling off and it is rubberized so it doesn't move around once you get it on there snuggly.
It dips nicely in the middle to make a minimal gap between you and the instrument so your neck is not put at an awkward angle and is very comfortably padded.

Essential Elements Violin BK1+DVD Review

(More customer reviews)This was my first book when I went looking for beginning violin instruction. What sold me was that it also teaches sight reading in conjunction with playing notes on the violin. It starts with one string at a time in the first position, then combines strings. The book contains 193 examples, charts and diagrams all over the place, as well as a cd AND dvd. The cd contains audio for examples 1-71, but the dvd has all of them. The musical backgrounds of the examples are not boring or monotonous sounding as one might expect, but are fresh and contemporary, ranging in nearly all different styles of music.
While my violin teacher has me using the Suzuki method, that method assumes you already know how to read sheet music, which was not the case for me, staring out. And in between my weekly lessons, I refer to EE2000 books 1, 2, and 3 all the time for additional practice.
I highly recommend EE2000 as a start point. It will provide a strong foundation for more challenging efforts on the violin. But nothing can take the place of one on one lessons with a good teacher.

Bow-Right for 1/4 - 1/2 Violin Review

(More customer reviews)In principle this is a very useful product that clearly encourages correct bowing. It suffers from a few less than desirable traits. First, it is not the easiest thing to put on and often doesn't stay put. For this reason I often worried about scratching my violin. You really need to take care putting it on and taking it off to be sure there is no damage. This may be less of a concern for a rented student violin, but I never put this my better violin. Second, it encouraged correct bowing by forcing you to fit between two metal bars. Again this is okay for an inexpensive fiberglass bow, but no way do you want a more expensive bow constantly scraping the metal guides. So my recommendation is that it works great if you are not preoccupied with thinking about potential damage.

(More customer reviews)The bridges with notches for the strings are worth the extra money. These bridges need to be shaped and grooved to be used on a 4/4 size violin. There is enough wood to do that but it is not a beginner project. These seem to be for a bigger instrument than adversized.
