(More customer reviews)I bought this for my son to replace his old one. It arrived in 3 days. On second day, my son took it to show his violin teacher. The teacher noticed the bow stick is very much crooked, and said that will affect performance. The stick is bend to the side and it bends more when the hair is tighten. So I decided to return it. It seems well made, so the problem is likely that the wood used may be not the standard wood for making bow.

Pickup Transducer for Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar, Ukulele, Etc Review

(More customer reviews)I asked at a well known and respected guitar shop in the San Francisco area about installing a pickup in my Pono tenor ukulele which is very nice except that it projects sound back to the player poorly. The shop wanted to put in a similar style (stick on, unamplified piezo soundboard transducer) Fishman pickup for $175. That seemed unreasonable for a $300 instrument. So I found this pickup, read the one review, and figured I'd get it and try it out. Worst case if I didn't like it, I could just pull it out and have the Fishman installed and use this transducer on other instruments in emergencies. Well, it was easy to install and the ukulele sounds great when plugged into our Roland AC-90 acoustic amp. I don't feel like I'm missing anything except the brand name recognition. Try it. I bet you'll like it too.

Pitch Pocket Tuners HST Clip-On Tuner Review

(More customer reviews)First, I am a beginner at tuning stringed instruments and music. This tuner works, but it is very sensitive and the needle moves very quickly. I find the red display hard to read. It is nice that the display changes color when you are on key, but the change is sudden and the sweet spot is very narrow. I also have an 'Intelli IMT-500' tuner and like that tuner MUCH better. With it I can 'sneak up' on the note as the meter moves more slowly and the display is much easier to read. Perhaps the Pitch Pocket would be fine for an expert who just needs to verify the instrument is in tune, but I will use the IMT-500.
The reason I have two is that I built two ukuleles and I wanted a tuner in each case. I thought I would see which tuner I liked better and I found out.

(More customer reviews)I'm a violin teacher and I know that violins this size are not going to produce much tone - but this one is worse than normal. Plus the fittings (like the bridge) are not fitted well or adjusted to the violin. When you play the A string you can't help but hit the E or D string at the same time. Strings are high off the fingerboard so it's hard for little kids to push them down easily and when you put fingers down the bow hits other strings. I know the price is cheap but you get what you pay for.

Heavy Rubber Practice Mute for Viola Review

I may cut a bit out of the side so it actually sits on the bridge. But the muting is great, and even with a tight fit, it doesn't seem to harm my bridge at all.

(More customer reviews)This case is very cheaply made. The description states it is for a 4/4 violin, but I didn't think I was going to be able to even get it closed. It did close, not easily, and I was worried that the slightest bump might damage the instrument. Even more disappointing was that the bow didn't even fit in the lid! I really wouldn't recommend this product at all if you have a higher priced violin. Spend the extra money and get a nicer case - and one that can also house the bow!

It feels solid also, and does not give a wimpy shrill sound, but rather a brilliant and focused sound, all the way up the fingerboard. Because of its volume, I usually swap the string in for a performance and then take it out in favor of the expressive Hill e string for practice.

This is a good, decent product, as advertised -- nothing fancy about it. It's a suspension case that comes with a hygrometer, humistat, string tube (wasn't in the advertisement), two bow holders, velcro neck restraint, blanket and accessory pocket inside the canvas outer music pocket. It's a lot lighter than my son's previous case, so that's a plus. I ordered the Bobelock's backpack style V-Strap separately, because I know my son would love it. It should have come with the case, though.
