I just replaced the strings on my old beater fiddle with these strings and the instrument sounds almost as good as my "advancing student" violin. Unlike the other reviewer, I get no squeaks on the E string. These strings were recommended by a local bluegrass fiddle pro, and his recommendation was a good one. A little pricey, but they last a long time.
