Legacy LVN-500 Student Violin, 4/4 Full Size with Deluxe Case, Bow and D'Addario USA Prelude Strings
Average Reviews:

took a little over a week to get this. It is really nice. not as light colored as the one in the picture, has a darker color but all fittings appear to be ebony (not like some others that claim to be but are not) Everything was set up and I was able to play it right out of the case. Case is nice and has good storage. Bow that came with it actually sounds better than my fiberglass bow, has a richer sound. I am just a biginner so I'm no expert and I know there are some very nice violins out there but this one fit my budget and I feel I really got my money's worth.

Larsen Tzigane 4/4 Violin String Set - Medium Gauge with Ball-end E Review

Larsen Tzigane 4/4 Violin String Set - Medium Gauge with Ball-end E
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been playing violin for ten years. I have tried a variety of violin strings. These strings have volume and power. They have a somewhat dark sound, but it's very rich. One downfall is that they eat rosin off the bow tremendously, and if you're not careful to really keep the bow rosined, you'll lose the smoothness of the strings easily. Great G and great D. A is good, and the E is excellent, has no shrillness and is the easiest E I've ever played. They are a bit expensive, but if you're looking for a different sound from your violin, they're worth a try. If you're looking for a brighter sound from your violin, you might try Thomastik Infeld Blue. I see saw between those two- the Thomastik and Larsen.

Molinari Romanian 4/4 Size Student Violin Outfit (Nitro Finish, Wood Bow, Thermoplastic Case) Review

Molinari Romanian 4/4 Size Student Violin Outfit (Nitro Finish, Wood Bow, Thermoplastic Case)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After unpacking, tuning, & playing this violin, I found all it needed was a set of quality strings! After changing the strings and re-tuning, the sound was fantastic! After the break-in period for the new strings, I suspect it will sound even better! This violin is pleasing to the eye, well-made, nice finish. The inside of the violin states it is made in Romania with european wood. It is a copy of a Stradivarius. It does have a solid maple back and sides, the back is not highly flamed, which I expected for the price, but who looks at the back of the violin while you are playing??? It was easy to tune and after playing for several minutes and re-tuning, it seems to be staying in tune. This violin is above-average for the price, very nice! I don't like the thermoplastic case, but I can live with it, the violin itself is worth it! Also worth mentioning, is the case has a special place for a shoulder rest. If you order this violin, pick up some rosin somewhere, because they don't send you any - again, no big deal. Why waste your money on a cheap "Made in Ch___" violin from a music shop, when you can spend an extra $50.00 and have a really nice violin? I will recommend to my students! THANK YOU AMAZON!

Got this by the recommendation from a teacher for my 11-year-old child and it fit just between the violin and her delicate shoulder and used it for a good number of years. This is a good support for beginning violinists.

VIOLINSMART Full Size 4/4 Red/Pink Electric Violin Complete Set Review

VIOLINSMART Full Size 4/4 Red/Pink Electric Violin Complete Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Yes, It is good for practising, but NOT good for a beginner. I have 20+ years of experience playing the violin. The instrument has many disadvantages, starting with the pieces of the violin. The sound quality is ok. The items included are cheap (eg rosin, shoulder pad, headphones).
Steps to make the instrument better:
1. Get better strings: the strings that come w/ the violin will make your fingers bleed. For a seasoned pro like me that is sad because I have well broken-in fingers with both the violin and cello!
2. Change the tail/bridge/chin rest/pegs: The material it is made of gives a weird vibration when played. It does reduce frustration! Especially with the pegs!
3. Spend the money to get fine tuning pins. This will help in the tuning process! Again, less frustration!
4. Get a new bow!! WOOD is best! Cheap bows will sound like...well cheap.
5. The weight is heavy. You may want to consider this if you are buying this for a child.
Make sure you read the reviews!! You get what you pay for! If you want quality....buy something $200 or more. These $80 violins are exactly what you are paying for...cheap!

Cremona SV-130 Premier Novice Violin, 1/16-Size Review

Cremona SV-130 Premier Novice Violin, 1/16-Size
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We got this for a Christmas present for our son, who is almost four. Because of the size, I found it difficult to tune and keep in tune, but I had researched beforehand and knew this was an issue with a violin of this size. We wanted something affordable and this model was just a step up from the cheapest ones, so we weren't expecting the best quality instrument. After all, even if we had spent hundreds more, what can you reasonably expect from a 3-1/2-year old and his violin? This quality and priced violin made sense for our situation. So far, my son is thrilled to take out his violin and experiment with making sound. We haven't started him on any lessons just yet, but thus far, we are very pleased with our purchase. It came with a bow, rosin, bridge and zipper-type case. We followed youtube videos on getting set up, so it wasn't too complicated. I am hoping with proper care and instruction that the violin will last until he needs the next size.

Strad Rosin for Violin and Viola Review

Strad Rosin for Violin and Viola
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I got these in cello and violin versions for my sons as they started learning violin and cello. Neither kid is terribly artsy or in to material things, but they seem to "get" that we wanted to give them a little something special and I think they'll try to keep these throughout their lives. The burling is very pretty and the box is well-finished. None of us here can provide expert comment on the rosin, but it does seem to work just fine on their student-level instruments.

Cecilio CEVN-3BL 4/4 Full Size Electric Silent Solidwood Violin w/ Ebony Fittings in Blue Metallic Review

Cecilio CEVN-3BL 4/4 Full Size Electric Silent Solidwood Violin w/ Ebony Fittings in Blue Metallic
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Well, to start off...The strings suck, and so does the rosin. I've played the violin a little over seven years now, and this is good for it's price. It has a nice tone for being so lowly priced, but, not the best. When you play, the strings hurt your fingers(or atleast mine) and your fingers get all black from the neck. But all together it is decent.

Wolf Superflexible Full-Size Violin - Viola Shoulder Rest Review

Wolf Superflexible Full-Size Violin - Viola Shoulder Rest
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have played violin/fiddle for 22 years. This is the BEST shoulder rest I have ever played on. In fact, I won't use anything else. I've tried a lot of stuff out there, too. It doesn't matter what you're shaped like, this rest is so versatile it will fit anybody and it's VERY comfortable. Plus, the tension bar makes this rest fit any violin or viola without actually having to reposition the rest so it doesn't fall off or be uncomfortable in the adjustment. These are also quite durable and last a very long time.

Muco Model Shoulder Rest for 1/2 Violin Review

Muco Model Shoulder Rest for 1/2 Violin
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Bought this for my 9 year old to use. It fits the violin well and seems very stable. It is hard, however, for him to put it on himself. It really takes some effort to pull the feet around the edge of the violin. Perhaps it will get easier with time and use, but it is not as nice as the Kun we were replacing. If I did it again, I would buy another Kun.

Gator Cases Deluxe ABS Full-Size Violin Case for 4/4-Size Violin Review

Gator Cases Deluxe ABS Full-Size Violin Case for 4/4-Size Violin
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Caveat emptor.
Desiring more rugged protection for my primary violin, I purchased this sturdy case.
There were several critical issues with this case.
1. This case was too narrow to accommodate either of my two (dimensionally typical) 4/4 "real" violins or my (somewhat slim) electric violin.
2. The bottom bow holder wasn't deep enough for a full sized bow (manufacturing defect?)
3. The "lining" of the case, while soft, was a shaggy substance, certain to capture rosin and eventually damage the violin's oil/varnish.
4. The top bow holder, while deep enough, exerted _sideways_ pressure on the bow (which will ruin a wood bow).
